Benefits: what dance can do for you

Dance is a great way to look after both body and mind. For you body, dance will work you both your muscular and cardio systems, helping you improve both through functional movement. As for your mind, ballroom dance in particular has been shown to help strengthen Neural pathways, as well as help to stave off conditionals such as Alzheimer's (read more about this in our blog)

social life friends

Walking into a dance studio for the first time, you may feel nervous. What you'll find however is a welcoming community of people exploring a passion for dance. Without realising it you've tapped into a tight-knit community, both locally and globally. Whether you plan to dance purely for fun, or you have ambitions of being the next dancing star, you'll make connections that will last a lifetime.

It feels great to achieve something doesn't it? In ballroom dance, that could mean something as simple as nailing a new move for the first time, or as grand as winning a major tournament. Our system is designed with these moments in mind; you can achieve your first medal (think piano grade or karate belt) in as little as 16 weeks. There's no limit to what you achieve: how far can you go?

Do you know there's a whole world of dancing outside of your studio? This can be found most commonly in Ballroom dance competitions. These competitions (known also as Dance Sport), cater to every age group and ability, and can be found locally, nationally or ever internationally! We at Dance Lumiere have extensive knowledge of the competitive scene, and can help you take it as far as you want to go

coaching career

Whilst not for everyone, those of you bitten hard by the dance bug may desire a career within the dance world. That could mean a part-time “side hustle” as a teacher, dancing commercially in theatre or media (possibly even dancing with the stars), or as a full-time coach of the generations to follow. Whatever your ambition, we have the knowledge and connections to help you succeed
